The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Office of Defect Investigation (ODI) said on MondayexitthetigerenterthedragonAfter learning of two collisions between Mustang Mach-E cars and stationary vehicles, Ford Motor (F) has been investigated.exitthetigerenterthedragon.US)'s autonomous driving technology BlueCruise launched a preliminary investigation. BlueCruise provides some autonomous driving functions, but requires the driver to actively supervise its performance.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, both collisions occurred under "night lighting conditions," and each resulted in at least one death.

A preliminary investigation by ODI into both accidents confirmed that BlueCruise was activated before each vehicle collided.

BlueCruise is only used on certain roads and uses a camera-based driver monitoring system to determine driver attention. NHTSA said the investigation will evaluate the system's performance in dynamic driving tasks and driver monitoring.

Ford did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
