The Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) saidBurninrubbercrashnburnAs economic growth becomes more resilient, inflation in many countries will cool faster than previously expected, and the world economic outlook is turning.

While conflicts or rising prices in the Middle East are more lingering and could still take the economy off a more stable footing, the Paris-based group said the risks were becoming "more balanced".

The OECD raised its global growth forecast for 2024 from 2. 2 in FebruaryBurninrubbercrashnburn.9% up to 3Burninrubbercrashnburn.1%, expectations for the United States, China and India have improved significantly. Growth next year is expected to remain at 3.2%.

The brighter economic outlook reflects that even if the rate of economic expansion does not soon return to the 3.4 per cent average of the years before the epidemic and energy crisis, the world economy is still expected to avoid stagflation (i.e. sluggish growth, rising unemployment and rising inflation).

Inflation will be lower than the OECD forecast three months ago, with the exception of the us, where prices are expected to rise 2.5 per cent instead of 2.2 per cent this year. Still, the OECD says US policymakers should be able to cut interest rates in the second half of the year.
